After a loss
No countdown. No pressure to move on.
If you’re here after a miscarriage, an ectopic or molar pregnancy, a termination for medical reasons, a stillbirth, the death of your baby or any other loss, there’s nothing you need to do on this page. Grief after a loss has no timetable, and it isn’t measured by how early or late the loss came. Some days you may want to remember out loud. Some days you may want nothing at all.
What Mama Bloom offers after a loss
- A memorial that’s only yours. It says: “There is no right way to grieve. Take all the time you need.” A name, if you gave one. A date. A letter in your own words. A gentle reminder on a date that matters, only if you set one. It stays only on your iPhone, so a new iPhone won’t have it. You can save a copy as a file. The file is yours, and Mama Bloom can bring it back in.
- Your journal, for whatever you want to put down.
- Mama Bloom AI, if you’d like to talk things through, day or night. It’s AI, it can be wrong, and it doesn’t replace a person or medical care.
- Meditations for sleepless nights or a quiet minute.
- Reading on miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons and your body after a loss, each piece with its sources.
- Crisis support: places to turn when it’s too much.
The memorial, your journal, crisis support, these meditations and most of the reading are free. Some other meditations and tools are part of Mama Bloom+, an optional membership.
How Mama Bloom takes care with this stage
Home won’t be the one to bring up what happened. After a loss, it shows no week card, no due date and no daily line under the greeting. The memorial waits among your tools until you go to it. Tools that assume a birth is coming aren’t offered, and when Mama Bloom picks a meditation or a sleep story for you, it picks only from what’s meant for this stage. It won’t bring up Mama Bloom+ on its own.
If you were already using Mama Bloom when this happened, there’s a quiet link on Home and in Profile, “Something has changed for me”. You can tell Mama Bloom there without having to explain. It asks nothing more and deletes nothing, and you can undo the change later.
If something you write sounds like you may not be safe, Mama Bloom shows you where to find real help. It won’t catch everything, so if you’re in danger, call your local emergency number.
Guides, if you want them
Mama Bloom is a wellness companion, not medical care. If you’re worried about your body, contact your doctor or midwife, or in an emergency your local emergency number.

Take only what helps
There’s nothing to complete here. You can close this page, talk to someone you trust, or come back another day. If a quiet place would help, choose “After Loss” in the app, or skip the question for now.
