The agreement, kept short
Terms of Use
Plain terms for a quiet app. Using Lettera means you accept these; if you don’t, that’s alright — simply don’t use it.
01What Lettera is
Lettera is an app for writing short letters to your future selves, or to people you love, and receiving them later. It is a companion for reflection. It is not a medical device or a source of medical, psychological, or crisis advice, and it does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional support. If you are in danger or in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line.
02Your words are yours
Everything you write stays your property. We claim no licence over your letters and never receive or read them. Letters remain in the app and, only if you choose private iCloud sync, in Apple’s private CloudKit database under your account. They otherwise leave your care only when you export or share them. What you do with your own exported letters — keeping them, sharing them, sending a sealed one to another person — is entirely up to you.
03Sealing is final
A sealed letter cannot be edited or un-sealed inside the app. This is deliberate: honesty with your future self, enforced by wax. Please write in that knowledge. A sealed letter shared as a file is a promise carried in good faith, not an encrypted vault — see Support.
04Patron & billing
The core app is free forever. Patron is an optional subscription that immediately unlocks the full stationery drawer and supports future work. Roadmap items shown in the app are labelled as planned and are not current purchase benefits. Subscriptions are billed by Apple through your App Store account, at the price Apple shows for your region, and renew until cancelled. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple account settings; cancellation stops future renewals and never touches your letters. Apple handles payment and refund requests under App Store policy. Nothing in these terms limits any statutory consumer rights you may have. Unless a separate agreement is presented to you, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your use of the app.
05Acceptable use
- Use Lettera for your own personal, lawful reflection and correspondence.
- Don’t attempt to break, resell, or redistribute the app itself.
- You are responsible for anything you choose to send to another person.
06No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, Lettera is provided “as is”, with care but without warranties of any kind. We can’t promise the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a scheduled letter will be delivered at a precise instant — local notifications depend on your device and its settings. Keep anything precious backed up.
07Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Mama Bloom is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.
08Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live.
09Changes
If these terms change, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
