Privacy Policy

Tiny Things · Last updated 13 July 2026

Tiny Things ("the app") is built to be private by architecture. This policy explains what happens to your information in plain language.

What we collect

We collect nothing from your writing. The app has no account, no sign-up, and no analytics. Everything you save in the app — including nights, daytime catches, letters, Remembered notes, and names you choose — is stored on your device and, when available, may be mirrored through your own private iCloud so it can sync across your devices. That copy is held by Apple in your account, never on a server we operate. We cannot see it, and it is never sent to us. Appearance and reminder preferences remain local to each device.

Voice capture (optional)

If you tap the microphone, the app asks for microphone permission and processes audio transiently in memory using Apple's on-device Speech framework. The app does not create or keep an audio recording. Finalized words become editable text and are then stored like text you type; unfinalized speech is discarded when a capture ends or is interrupted. Your device may contact Apple to download the speech assets required for your language. We do not receive the audio or transcript.

Actions you choose

Subscriptions

Tiny Things Plus is an auto-renewing subscription sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. StoreKit gives the app product information and entitlement status so it can show the live offer and unlock Plus. The annual plan supports Apple Family Sharing; this shares only the Plus entitlement. It does not expose or combine family members’ writing, reminders, skies, or private iCloud data, and each person keeps a separate private space. We operate no subscription backend and do not receive or store your name, email, address, or payment details. You can manage or cancel anytime in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.

Smarter Nights (optional, off by default)

"Smarter Nights" is an optional Plus feature you must turn on yourself. On supported devices, Apple's on-device model can suggest which of the app's piles each line belongs in. Its model processing happens entirely on your iPhone. It does not extract, infer, or save facts about people. On other devices, the app uses its simpler on-device sorter.

Apple services

The app may communicate with Apple for private iCloud sync, App Store product and subscription status, and downloads of on-device speech assets. User-chosen share and export actions may also involve Apple or the destination you select. We operate no server that receives your writing, audio, or exports. We use no analytics or advertising provider.

What we never do

We do not track you. We do not sell or share your information. We do not build advertising profiles. We use no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data from the app on our servers, there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf. You can remove entries in the app, turn off iCloud for the app in iPhone Settings, and manage the app's private iCloud data in your Apple account. Deleting the app from one device may leave its private iCloud copy in your account so it can be restored or synced; remove that copy from iCloud separately if you want it deleted there too. Items you chose to share or export must be managed at their chosen destination. If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, California, or elsewhere with data-protection rights and have any question, contact us and we will help. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.

Children

The app is intended for adults (parents and caregivers) and is not directed at children under 13/16.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version at this URL.
